Tripura resident dies, shocked by Jyoti Basu's death

Agartala, Jan 19 : A 45-year-old activist of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) died of shock in Tripura after hearing the news of patriarch Jyoti Basu's death, his family said Tuesday.

"After the death of the veteran communist leader, Nandan Chakraborty suffered a massive heart attack Sunday. He was admitted to Udaipur district hospital where he died late Monday," Nandan's father Dinesh Chakraborty said.

Government offices, educational institutions, banks, shops and business establishments remained closed Tuesday across Tripura to mourn the death of Basu.
