Maoist poster in Kolkata police kiosk

Kolkata, Dec 3 : As security forces battle the Maoists in its heartland in Lalgarh area in West Bengal, the rebels managed to embarrass the forces by pasting posters on a police post at Salt Lake in Kolkata's showpiece satellite township.

TV reports said the Maoists has pasted posters in a police kiosk in Salt Lake to protest price rise. The posters, discovered on Wednesday night, also contained seditious statements.

The West Bengal police were in a tizzy over the discovery of the posters on a police kiosk in Salt Lake, home to the city's famous and rich. Communist patriarch Jyoti Basu also lives in Salt Lake.

Earlier the Maoists had pasted posters on the state secretariat Writers' Buildings and in some other key buildings of Kolkata.
