Procuring defence items from Israel: Antony

New Delhi, Dec 2 : Defence Minister AK Antony Wednesday here said procurement of defence items is being made from various indigenous as well as foreign sources, including Israel, in accordance with the defence procurement procedure.

'This is a continuous process undertaken for the modernisation of the Armed Forces to keep them in a state of readiness to meet any eventuality. A number of contracts were concluded with Israel during the last five years for acquisition of various types of defence equipment. Contractual obligations are required to be met by both the sides,' said Antony in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

In the absence of specific inputs, it is difficult to comment whether Pakistan is having the same arms from Israel, he added.
