Kolkata, Jan 9 : Former India Test captain Gundappa Viswanath was felicitated here by the Pailan World School Residential Cricket Academy on Saturday.
Viswanath has been appointed as an advisor in the academy and would be assisted by other former cricketers including Arun Lal, Gopal Bose and Sambaran Banerjee. Devang Gandhi would also be a part of the advisory team.
"Kolkata is a favourite place for me...I played my career's second Test match at Eden," Viswanath said said speaking at the programme.
"To be advisor of this academy is a happy occasion for me," he added.
