New Delhi, Dec 2 : Lithuanian foreign minister Vygaudas Usackas, who is on his maiden visit to India, is looking at forging strong ties between the two nations, especially in tourism, business and infrastructure. He is scheduled to meet the Indian foreign minister S.M. Krishna Thursday evening.
Accompanied by the Lithuanian minister of economy Dainius Kreivys and a 27-member business delegation, Usackas attended a meeting at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Wednesday, and will attend another meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Mumbai Friday.
Rajinder Kumar Chaudhary, honorary consul of India to Lithuania, said that the ministers are also scheduled to meet the Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani.
"They will meet the Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah because Lithuania is looking at joint collaborations in this field," Chaudhary told IANS. "They will also meet Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia, as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan.
"With the opening of the Lithuanian embassy here last year, the visa process for businessmen will become easier," he added.
