Matthew Settle Plans Wookie Santa For Daughter

December 25, 2009: GOSSIP GIRL star MATTHEW SETTLE has experienced the two extremes of Christmas - he grew up a Baptist preacher's son and is now married into a Jewish family.

It's little wonder he's a tad confused about the holidays - he's considering dressing up as Star Wars character Chewbacca in a Santa suit to thrill his four-year-old daughter.

He tells WENN, "We're planning a psychedelic Christmas with a Jimi Hendrix Santa Claus. I haven't dressed up like Santa yet but now I have a little girl so I think it might be time. How about I'll dress up like a Wookie from Star Wars with a Santa costume. Weird, yeah?"

But he has very fond Christmas memories from his youth in North Carolina: "I knew all the Christmas songs but, as kids, we would always screw up the words and make up our own. I probably still get the words wrong to In Excelsis. It's always nice to hear the music and sing the songs because it's traditional.

"Now I'm gonna have Hanukkah because my wife is Jewish, so my daughter is Jewish so we'll have a Christmas tree and the menorah."
