New Delhi, Feb. 28: Malayalam film director Rajesh Pillai, who was best known for the films like 'Traffic' and 'Mili,' has passed away at the age of 41 at PVS hospital in Kochi.
According to sources, the filmmaker, who was admitted to the hospital on February 25, was suffering from liver cirrhosis.
Expressing his condolence, veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, "So sad to hear an untimely demise of rajesh pillai dir of #traffic.may he rest in peace.."
Divya Dutta expressed her condolence by writing, "Lost a very dear director rajesh pillai... Who directed me in the yet unreleased beautiful film#traffic! Rip dear sir!."
It is being said that Rajesh had contracted pneumonia during the post production of his film 'Vettah' that worsened his health condition.
His death comes a day after 'Vettah' hit theatres.
