Cuttack/Mumbai, Dec 19 : The Indian team for the next two ODIs against Sri Lanka will be led by Virender Sehwag, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Saturday.
The choice was made after captain M S Dhoni was banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the next two ODIs in Cuttack and Kolkata, for slow over rate in the second ODI Friday, officials said.
ICC Match Referee, Jeff Crowe, has imposed an immediate Two Match suspension on M S Dhoni for slow over-rate after conducting a hearing Friday night.
The Indian Players have been penalized 40 percent of their Match fees.
The Nagpur match had ended 45 minutes behind schedule.
Dhoni is in terrific form and scored a century in Friday's match.
