India in no hurry to hang Kasab: Tharoor

New Delhi, Dec 19 : Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor Saturday rejected a suggestion about hanging Ajmal Amir Kasab, the sole surviving Mumbai terror accused in Indian custody, saying there was no hurry to do so and that India will follow the 'democratic judicial process' in the case.

"We have a surviving terrorist. We are in no hurry to do anything to him quickly as he is a vital source of information," Tharoor said when asked why India was not hanging Kasab quickly to set an example for others.

"There is a democratic judicial process, and we will follow it," he said.

Kasab, the lone surviving Pakistani terrorist undergoing trial for the 26/11 attacks, made another U-turn Friday by denying his role in the Mumbai mayhem and recanted his confessions made earlier in the court.
