Kourtney Kardashian collapsed after crash diet

London, July 13 : Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian was so obsessed with losing weight that she passed out during a workout session.

After the scare, Kourtney, 31, said: "I'm so embarrassed that I punished my body for a photo shoot. I've been obsessing about this weight thing a little too much."

The new mother went to extreme measures in an effort to get in shape for her first magazine bikini shoot following the birth of son Mason. But after dieting fanatically and exercising twice a day, the exhausted Kourtney collapsed while running along the beach.

"I have the paramedics calling me telling me that Kourtney passed out, she's in the back of an ambulance," her sister Khloe said on the latest episode of "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami" Sunday.

Kourtney even had to be hooked up to an intravenous drip.

"I was just running down the beach like I always have been lately. And then I just woke up. I didn't eat anything this morning," Kourtney told Khloe and the paramedic.

Kourtney, who gave birth to her first child in December, went on to appear on the cover of American magazine Life and Style in a red bikini in March.
