Lindsay Lohan may serve only a quarter of her prison term

Melbourne, July 7 : Lindsay Lohan, who has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating terms of her probation of her 2007 drug and alcohol case, may only serve only a quarter of her prison term.

The 'Mean Girls' star was breaching the court-appointed order by failing to attend enough alcohol education classes, reports News.com.au.

But a spokesman for the county sheriff in Beverly Hills has said that generally a female inmate in Lohan's position only serves a quarter of their sentence.

This means that the actress could end up spending less than 23 days in prison, according to TMZ.

Overcrowding in US jails, and a good-behaviour discount, could see Lohan's sentence being reduced to 23 days.
