Scribes, go global with Globizzle

Kolkata, July 4: Journalists, photographers, cartoonists, writers- here is an opportunity to beat the indifferent, sometimes degrading, treatment of editors to freelance contributors and yet pitch and sell your content online, and globally.

Welcome to Globizzle.com, the global online marketplace for media content, which now targets the vast Indian market teeming with proficient freelancers who can meet the international benchmark of journalism and photography.

Michael Todd, Globizzle, General Manager, Public Relations, is now travelling to five Indian cities to promote the idea of online marketplace of quality media content.

"Globizzle is an enormously exciting concept and so it makes lots of sense to focus on the world's most vibrant market and largest democracy-India," he told reporters here at a press conference recently.

"Here you can sell your content and yet retain the intellectual property right. We only retain ten percent of your earning which comes to you through a time-tested and dependable PayPal system," said Todd.

"We are also monitoring the quality and even taking content that does not meet the standards off," said Todd.

"Here you quote your own price of the content. The buyer can communicate directly with you and we provide the user the liberty of only changing or editing 20 percent of the content. The content owner can negotiate the whole process," he said.

He said India is one of their target regions because of its democracy and the rich tradition of journalism along with the command of the educated class over the Queen's language, English.

Globizzle, which has been founded by Australian entrepreneurs, has got very positive response so far, claimed Todd.

Globizzle.com allows any freelancer to register free online, upload their content and name their own free for what they submit.

They can easily search for their topic of interest, view the content and decide whether it meets the requirements of editors at a price they are prepared to pay.

"Globizzle brings the buyers and sellers together in the marketplace and reduces the cost of media content. Via this site, freelancing can be a proactive way to earn a living," said Jonathan Italiano, co-founder, Globizzle.

Globizzle is launching itself in the markets of India, Australia, the UK, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and the Middle East.

The promoters said in the countries where democracy is not vibrant like in India, the writers can express themselves freely though a medium like Globizzle.
