Monsoon to hit Rajasthan by end of June

Jaipur, Jun 24 : The South-West monsoon is expected to arrive in Rajasthan by the end of this month, Director Meteorology Centre S S Singh said here today.

''The monsoon normally hits parts of Rajasthan between June 16 to 18 but this year it got delayed, Mr Singh told UNI.

However, now a low pressure area was expected to be formed in the Bay of Bengal in a day or two and that might trigger progress in the monsoon, he said.

Meanwhile, high temperatures coupled with sultry weather conditions kept people uncomfortable in most of the parts of the desert lands including the state capital.

The district administration had ordered closure of private schools in Jaipur till June 27, which had already reopened after summer vacation.
