Kingsley and actress wife Daniela to unfold film Taj plans at IFFI
Panaji, Nov 27 : Oscar winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley, who acted in the Hindi film 'Gandhi' and his wife Daniela Lavender, award winning Brazilian and international actress and thespian, will be at the on-going International Film Festival of India here on Sunday.
International film makers have huge interest in the rising star Daniela Lavender This has only been heightened by her recent role in award winning film, in which she stars alongside Mariah Carey.
The film won the Sundance Film Festival Award, sources close to the couple told UNI from London.
Daniela is also starring in Sir Ben Kingsley's production (under his SBK Productions banner), based on the story of Taj Mahal. The project is entitled 'Taj' and marks the first film project in which both Sir Ben and Daniela will be starring alongside each other.
They will be announcing the project at the Film Festival. Daniela will play the character of Princess Kandahari Begum. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing Mumtaz.
Daniela has recently completed her tour with the British Shakespeare Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, where she received critical acclaim. She has also starred in film projects alongside Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Irons and Michael Gambon.
Daniela's personal story is also fascinating. Born in Bahia, Brazil, the daughter of a professor of English, she studied journalism at PUC University and Drama at Dirceu de Mattos College in Rio and started acting when she was just eight. She went on to train at London International School of Acting and studied Flamenco under Roberto Amaral and Yolanda Arroyo in Los Angeles.
