Singapore gears up for kids fest

Singapore, May 4 : Singapore is all geared up for 'The Great Eastern International Kids Performing Festival' this summer, where children from various countries will come together and stage their performances.

The festival, organized by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), celebrates children's passion towards excellence in performing arts and gives them a golden chance to interact and exchange ideas with youth from other countries, said an official release.

The six-day fest that starts on June 22, will see children participating in concerts, workshops, camps and even full length musical.

Apart from a global exposure to stage performances and enriching workshops, the camp will also feature entertaining and interactive events like the Prodigies of the World Concert and the Singapore Performing Arts Junior Championship (SPAJC).

"The SPAJC invites entries from all over the world where children between the age group of 7 - 19 years battle it out in exciting dancing and singing competitions. All the performers will be rewarded certificates of participation and the final winner stands a chance to win a grand cash prize of US USD 5000 and the prestigious SPAJC 2010 trophy," said an official spokesperson.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is a leading economic development agency in tourism, one of Singapore's key service sectors.
