India Haat, an exhibition-cum-sale of ethnic art and craft products, was inaugurated in the presence of Tollywood actor Soham Chakravarty on Tuesday.

The three day event, which is organised by Rotary Club of Calcutta, will last for three days at the Ice Skating Rink.

The 70 stalls are divided into five sections namely Haute Haat, Angan Haat, Jewel Haat, Designer Haat and Art Haat.

Vendors from various parts of India have participated in the exhibition showcasing handcrafted items like jewelry, paintings on marble, kids bean bags, porcelain, artifacts, earthen wares potteries, fashion accessories to name a few.

Tanjore paintings, bridal wear and meena kundan and polka jewelry are the biggest attraction of the exhibition.

One can also pick chocolates, muffins and brownies from the confectionery stalls.

Around 90 per cent participants in the exhibition are women, informed the organisers.

The proceeds from the three days of the exhibition-cum-sale will be used for various charitable activities of Rotary Club of Calcutta including free heart surgeries for needy children and cataract surgeries for the underprivileged at the Hari Charan Garg Mahanagar Netralaya.
