Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his five-day visit to Japan Wednesday and flew home. He is expected to arrive at New Delhi in the evening.

During his visit, Japan promised to give USD 35 billion to India over the next five years for development projects.

Modi, in his first visit outside South Asia after becoming the prime minister in May this year, signed a pact in Kyoto under which Modi's Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi would be developed on the lines of Kyoto 'smart city'.
