Young gymnasts from Manipur participate in national gymnastic championship at Agra
A group of 19 students from Manipur recently took part in the 59th National School Gymnastics Championship in both the boys and girls categories held in Agra.
Over 1000 athletes from all over the country participated in the five-day-long championship held at the Eklavya stadium.
The young boys and girls from Manipur put up an impressive performance in the Under-14 category.
"We have got participants from three northeastern states-Tripura, Manipur and Assam. These children are very proud to be here. They are interacting with the children from other regions and enjoying the food here. They are also trying o learn form the other participants .As a result of all this, we are seeing that the communication gap has lessened," said SP Singh, organiser.
The students were happy to get a chance to interact with children from all over the country.
Events like this provide a platform to people from different parts of the country to interact and understand each other's culture, thereby promoting national integration.
