Cairo, Feb 7 (Xinhua) At least one person was killed Friday during clashes between security forces and supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in Fayoum governorate south of Egypt's capital Cairo. IANS | 11 months ago

Pro-Morsi marches have been staged in various parts of the turmoil-stricken country including Cairo, Giza, Fayoum, Alexandria and others, Xinhua reported citing state TV.

Meanwhile, the government arrested scores of Morsi's supporters, mostly from the Muslim Brotherhood group that has been declared by the interim government last December as "a terrorist organisation".

Since Morsi's ouster by the military last July, Islamists have been holding protests against the current interim leadership, especially after mid-August 2013 when security forces dispersed two major pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo and Giza, leaving about 1,000 people dead and thousands arrested.
