Declaring Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan's move as irresponsible, Bureau Chief of Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) Dr Waiel Awwad said here on Monday that Pakistan at this stage needs stability and security.

Awwad told ANI, "It is a very irresponsible move on the part of the opposition in Pakistan, led by Imran Khan Alta al Qaeda, because they have ordered the Parliament to decide their future and discuss matters related to Pakistan. Pakistan at this stage needs stability and security, and if these two are not provided that mean they are only hungry for the seat."

"Imran Khan, till now, did not give any alternative to the government. What is his policy of bringing back the economy of Pakistan on to track and also lifting up the socio-economic situation of the people?" he pondered.

"I think this kind of demonstration is a clear indication that even the army has allowed Pakistanis to go into the office of the Prime Minister and into the Parliament. It is a clear indication that they wanted to see blood in the street, so that they can really intervene and bring down a civilian government," Awwad said.

Earlier today, PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protesters were thrown out of the PTV building by the army, after they barged into the TV channel's office, forcing the national broadcaster to go off-air.

The protesters were made to leave the building following army intervention and the channel was allowed to resume its broadcast.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri appealed to protesters to not occupy government buildings and asked them not to cross the line after the temporary seizure.

The anti-government protests took a violent turn when protesters clashed with police in Islamabad, as they marched to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's residence, demanding his resignation.

According to reports, hundreds were left injured as the police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds.

This comes after reports stated that Pakistan army chief Raheel Sharif had held a meeting with his corps commanders in Rawalpindi, where the ongoing political crisis was discussed, along with the minutes of his meeting with Nawaz, the PTI and the PAT.
