Tahir gets confidence boost post performance against Oz in triangular series match
South Africa spinner Imran Tahir has been given a timely confidence boost following his performance against Australia in the Triangular series match on Wednesday.
The leg-spinner made an impact with the ball on a batting friendly deck at the Harare Sports Club, and has put aside his disappointing performances in the longer format of the game.
Tahir said that it feels good, and added that he is honoured to be a part of this talented team, Sport24 reported.
Tahir said that he has been working hard on his fitness and bowling and is glad that it went well for him. He added that if he keeps putting in the hard work hopefully the results will continue to come.
The leg-spinner said that he does not know the reason for contrasting performances in Tests and ODI's, and added that he always feels that his role is a bit attacking but he can take wickets even in Tests.
Tahir said that things didn't go his way in a few series but he is positive. He added that he is not going to give up and will continue to give his best to try and justify his place again.
He also said that he is in a good space, he is thinking about Test cricket at the moment and just focusing on the current series.
Tahir finished with match figures of two for 45 in 10 overs, the most economical bowler of the high-scoring match, the report added.
