World-class roads up to a length of 1,000 km at an investment of Rs.10,000 crore, two corridors connecting four corners of Hyderabad and four lakh LED street lights were some of the major announcements made Friday by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Fresh from his visit to Singapore and Malaysia, KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, said roads to a length of 500 km would be completed in two years and the remaining 50 percent would be done in another two years.
In a move to ease congestion, he said an east-west four-lane corridor (skyway) would be developed between Vanasthalipuram and Ramachandrapuram. "Similarly a corridor will be developed between north and south," he said while opposing the proposal mooted by officials for construction of 25 flyovers.

KCR said that four lakh LED lights would replace the existing street lights in the city.
He said another outer ring road would be developed in addition to the existing one with satellite townships and specialized clusters like pharma city, sports city, health city and cinema city.

Announcing that a legislation in this regard will be passed in coming session of the assembly, he said once the single window clearance becomes a reality, industry will run to Hyderabad.
"The administration in Telangana is going to be corruption free. There will be no tolerance for corruption," he said while describing it as the biggest ill plaguing society.
Stating that Hyderabad has many advantages, KCR said he had no doubt that it would soon grow faster than any other city in the country.
The chief minister also announced sops to boost real estate sector. He also promised a single window system to give all clearances for real estate projects, saying the existing system of obtaining 40 no-objection certificates from different departments is for only for taking bribes from developers.
