Cabinet scraps 'one gas cylinder per month' scheme
The Union Cabinet, which met here on Wednesday, removed the scheme of providing only one subsidized gas cylinder per month per household.
"The previous government had decided to provide 12 subsidized gas cylinders per household, with a clause of only one cylinder per month. Today, we have removed the '1 cylinder per month condition'," Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told mediapersons after the meeting.
The UPA government had earlier on January 30, capped the supply of subsidized cylinders at 12 cylinders per annum per household.
