New Zealand golfer Waite likely to be Tiger Wood's new coach
New Zealand golfer Grant Waite, ranked in Golf Digest as one of the top 50 coaches based in America, could have a chance to become Tiger Woods' new coach.
According to Stuff.co.nz, as a coach, Waite's stock continues to rise and his name is featuring highly and often in discussions over Woods' next move after the 14-time major winner axed swing coach Sean Foley.
Wait, 50, won once on the PGA Tour at the Kemper Open in 1993 and was runner up to Woods at the Canadian Open in 2000.
AZcentral golf writer Bob Young predicted that Woods might go with Waits instead of Butch Harmon, who is also a strong choice.
Young wrote that Woods, in the past, had professed his admiration for Waite's swing while he was on Tour and now Waite was a teacher.
While Woods was named last year's PGA Tour Player of the Year and won five times on tour under Foley, there were speculations that Foley's method was hindering rather than helping Woods' on-going back issues which led to the 79-time PGA Tour winner needing surgery, the report said.
