Public says 90 days too early to decide on NDA Government's performance
With the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government completing three months in office, the general public is of the view that it is too early to decide on the latter's performance.
Jothi Sivagnanam, HOD, Economics, University of Madras, feels it is too premature to come up with any evaluation.
Sivagnanam said, "Government has completed just 100 days, therefore, it is too premature to make any evaluations. Most of our economic problems are long term in nature, for instance we have growth deceleration and inflation and in addition to these we have distribution issues, social setup and poverty. According to Rangarajan Committee report one thirds of our population is below the poverty line. All these issues are long term in nature".
When asked to comment on three months of NDA rule, a resident of Jaipur, Satprakash Sharma said, "Prime Minister is doing a good job. It will take some time to the see the effects of government's work on ground level."
Gopal Sahni of Jaipur echoed a similar view, "Three months is too less time for any government to do any work. One thing is clear that their grip on the administration is not firm, that is why the benefits of schemes and programs can't reach the common man".
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has completed its three months in office on August 26.
