Tottenham thrash QPR 4-0 at White Hart Lane to win third PL match in a row
Tottenham Hotspur ripped apart Queens Park Rangers' defence to beat Harry Redknapp's side 4-0 in their Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.
Redknapp's return to White Hart Lane was a miserable one as the QPR manager saw his side beaten comfortably by a rampant Tottenham, with winger Nacer Chadli scoring twice for Spurs, while defender Eric Dier and striker Emmanuel Adebayor also got their names on the scoresheet.
The result meant Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has won each of his three matches in charge, while Redknapp's QPR have lost both of their Premier League games without scoring, The BBC reported.
Beforehand, the talk had reportedly centred on Redknapp's first visit to Tottenham since the club sacked him in June 2012 after almost four years in charge. The visitors had a particularly strong Tottenham flavour with Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle, who was appointed by Redknapp as QPR's first-team coach earlier this month, watching from the stands
Pochettino has been tasked with earning Tottenham a top-four finish and introducing a similar style to the one he implemented at Southampton. Although his squad faces a sterner test of their credentials in a week's time against Liverpool, Tottenham fans will feel encouraged with both the quality and ruthlessness of this performance.
Spurs recalled five players rested for their 2-1 win over Limassol in their Europa League play-off and showed no signs of fatigue to take an early lead.
QPR have managed just three wins in 27 visits to White Hart Lane in all competitions, with their last coming back in May 1994.
Tottenham boss Pochettino said that it was a great performance, adding that they are trying to develop their style and philosophy. He said that it is not easy but the players always try.
The Argentine added that Erik Lamela did well, as it is never easy when one comes to new country and is young to adapt.
QPR boss Redknapp said that his side did not play well and got what they deserved, which is nothing. He added that he thought they were in awe of Tottenham a little bit.
Redknapp said that one has to play with energy, and they can't stroll about in this division if they want to stay in it.
