Gazza desperate to go to private clinic to beat booze addiction but cannot afford it
Former England international Paul Gascoigne, popularly known as Gazza, is said to be desperate to check into a private clinic to beat his alcohol addiction, but he cannot reportedly afford it.
Gazza apparently longs to return to the luxurious US facility he stayed at last year when his friends including DJ Chris Evans raised 40,000 pounds, but it has been reportedly revealed that the former England footballer, who has little or no money, knows it would be hard to get people to help out again following his relapse this week.
A friend revealed that the former Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers and Lazio midfielder has been spending hours in his Bournemouth flat drinking and listening to Amy Winehouse's Rehab on repeat, The Mirror reported.
The friend also claimed that Gazza's face appeared puffy because he has an addiction to Botox.
Gazza was rushed to Poole Hospital on Thursday after being found slumped outside his flat, clutching a bottle of gin. His rehab hopes emerged on Saturday after doctors told him that he needed to stay in hospital until Monday four a four-day detox.
A source reportedly revealed that when Gazza leaves hospital he would be taken to a rehab clinic, preferably the Cottonwood Clinic in Arizona where he went to dry out last year.
However, a friend said that they don't know where they will get the money, and added that a lot of people won't be daft enough to put their hands in their pockets again.
Gazza is thought to have turned back to drink after despairing at a number of failed business deals that had left him broke. He had also hoped to work as a pundit during the World Cup but was knocked back by several TV channels, the report added.
