John Lennon's first self portrait expected to fetch 3m pounds at auction
John Lennon's first ever self-portrait made in 1958 is expected to fetch 3 million pounds at an auction in London.
The owner-managing director of CooperOwen Music Media Auctions of London, which is auctioning the piece, said that the unique item is expected to be auctioned for 3 million pounds as it may be of interest to Lennon and Beatles' collectors around the world.
The painting, which shows the former Beatles legend with a pot belly and male mammaries, dates back to 1958, the same year when he played with Paul McCartney and George Harrison for the first time and met his first wife, Cynthia Lennon.
