Former South Africa cricket team coach Mickey Arthur is reported to be in line to become the new coach of the West Indies now.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) on Tuesday announced that they have parted ways with coach Ottis Gibson, just ahead of a home ODI series against Bangladesh. And it was reportedly revealed that Arthur would be named the next West Indies coach.

Arthur, who has also coached Australia's national side, recently took charge of the Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean T20 Premier League, Sport24 reported.

The former South African cricketer was also on the shortlist to replace Marvan Atapattu as head coach of Sri Lanka.

Arthur is also currently involved at Australian Super Rugby outfit, the Western Force, the report added.
