The all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo was launched in India today at the Auto Expo 2014.

Locally produced at the BMW Plant Chennai, the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo will be available at BMW dealerships across the country from March 2014.

Mr. Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, said, "A revolutionary concept, the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, combines the sporty yet elegant character of a coupe with high functionality and impressively versatile interior. With countless innovations and thoughtful details, the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo presents a new stylistic assurance around the use of space, boasts a distinctive presence on the road and offers similarly pronounced driving pleasure."

An unrivalled symbiosis of form and space in the Gran Turismo creates a unique look and makes a powerful impression. It unites the best of both worlds: an embodiment of pure dynamism and a sense of spaciousness.

The Gran Turismo will be available in a diesel variant (the BMW 320d Gran Turismo) at an all India ex-showroom price of INR 42,75,000.

Price prevailing at the time of invoicing will be applicable. Delivery will be made ex-showroom.
Ex-showroom prices (inclusive of VAT@12.5%) but excludes Road Tax, RTO statutory taxes/fees, Insurance and Octroi (if applicable).VAT over and above 12.5%, if applicable, will be charged extra. Prices and options are subject to change without prior notice.

The Gran Turismo will be available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following four metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant and Sparkling Brown.

The inimitably stylish appearance of the Gran Turismo is accentuated by a powerfully formed front end, a stunningly stretched silhouette with coupe-style roofline, frameless side windows and a flowing rear end with large load aperture.

An active rear spoiler - the first of its type on a BMW - provides visual lightness and reduces lift at touring speeds. It is automatically deployed at 110 km/h and retracted at speeds below 70 km/h. When deployed at high speeds, the spoiler increases downforce on the rear axle and ensures perfect directional stability when driving fast.

Another very distinctive new BMW introduction are the so-called Air Breathers integrated elegantly into the vehicle's flanks, which reduce turbulence in this area and reduce the car's aerodynamic drag.

Everything in the interior is generously proportioned and ensures first-class comfort. The fine-wood interior trim with Pearl Chrome accent lines and countless chrome inlays, create an exclusive atmosphere that blends seamlessly into the exquisite overall design.

'Space is an essential part of true luxury' - One of the outstanding features of the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is its impressive spaciousness, which together with the high seating position, makes it perfect for long trips. The Panorama glass roof proves that even the most generous interior can be made to appear even more spacious.

The Gran Turismo also provides a generous 520-litre luggage compartment which can easily be expanded to up to 1,600 litres thanks to a 40/20/40-split rear backrest with fold-down headrests. With the electrically operated tailgate as a standard feature, the large, wide rear door opens and closes at the touch of a button.

The 2.0 litre BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine combines advanced CommonRail direct injection with innovative turbocharger technology to develop an output of 135 kW/184 hp and an impressive torque of 380 Nm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr takes 7.9 seconds and top speed is 226 km/h.

The eight-speed automatic transmission performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency.

The Gran Turismo with state-of-the-art safety features provides maximum support in any situation with six air bags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control, Electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor, Side impact protection and impact absorbing front and rear bumpers.

The Gran Turismo also features the BMW Driving Experience Control switch, which enables the driver to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions. (Comfort, ECO PRO and Sport).

With BMW EfficientDynamics, the Gran Turismo is equipped with the most comprehensive technology packages to reduce fuel consumption and increase driving dynamics - such as Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.

The Gran Turismo has a plethora of BMW ConnectedDrive driver assist systems and services. These include BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System), 16.5 cm colour Central Information Display, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices, HiFi loudspeaker system and BMW Live. Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera come as standard features in the Gran Turismo.
