First female art exhibition attracts visitors in Srinagar
The first art exhibition organized by a Kashmiri woman attracted a horde of visitors and showcased the talent of the valley's women artists.
The exhibition titled "Islands of Serenity" was organized by Kashmir-born Sadaf Munshi in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at Lal Mandi, Srinagar.
People from different corners visited the exhibition and appreciated Sadaf Munshi for organizing such an exhibition.
For several years, a number of art exhibitions have been organized in the Kashmir Valley both by the government and non-government organizations to promote art in Kashmir.
About 29 semi-abstract oil and water colour works by Sadaf Munshi, who resides in USA, are also part of the exhibition.
"It was my earnest desire to hold the first exhibition of my paintings in my hometown Srinagar although I had many opportunities to do so in the United States or elsewhere," Munshi said.
