At least 18 militants killed in fresh air strikes in NWA, Khyber
At least 18 suspected militants were killed as Pakistani fighter jets pounded seven militant hideouts in the Khyber and North Waziristan tribal regions.
According to the Dawn, sources in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the strikes were carried out in the Kokikhel area of Tirah Valley in Khyber and in the North Waziristan tribal area.
The strikes were a part of the ongoing military operation Zarb-i-Azb in the North Waziristan tribal region.
Operation Zarb-i-Azb was launched on June 15 against local and foreign militants in North Waziristan on the directions of the Pakistan government.
Since the launch of the operation, nearly a million people have fled the offensive in North Waziristan.
