Congress leader Shobha Oza has called for the government to be tough on crime against women and has asked for zero tolerance against such crimes.

Speaking to ANI, she said, "The government was talking of zero tolerance towards crime against women, against rape cases. The time to act is now."

She also accused the government of not probing their own officials. "The government keeps quiet when it comes to probing their officials. Therefore, people are no longer scared of the law. These criminals do not fear anything, once they know that the government is reluctant to act in these kinds of situations. This is why the country is facing such a condition.

Her statement came after earlier today, the Loni area of Ghaziabad saw locals clash with the police after the alleged rape of a nine year old girl.
