Nitish Kumar launches frontal attack against BJP
Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar today launched a scathing attack directed against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sharing the dias with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in Chhapra, Nitish Kumar targeted the saffron party for spreading rumours and described them as part of rumour spreading society.
He patted about the state governments initiatives while he was at the helm as chief minister which he said has resulted in 20,000 villages in the state getting connected with electricity.
Kumar claimed that with a country as diverse as India, the present BJP-led NDA government in Delhi won't be able to sort out such issues.
Hitting out at BJP's communal ideology, the JD-U leader said that in order to end its poisonous effect being spread by that party, the three-party alliance has been formed to counter it.
The two leaders in recent months have become friendly after a gap of 20 years and both are addressing a rally here as part of election campaign ahead of the Bihar by-election in 10 seats on August 21.
Lalu and Nitish announced their alliance last month after both parties suffered defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections and declared that they will jointly contest the August by-polls and the state Assembly elections next year.
The Assembly by-polls are due to be held next week in Hajipur, Chapra, Mohiuddinagar, Narkatiyaganj, Mohania, Jale, Bhagalpur, Banka, Rajnagar and Parbatta.
