Pakistan violates LoC ceasefire again
The Pakistan Army again violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir Thursday evening, an official said.
Pakistan fired at Indian positions in Poonch district, defence spokesman Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS.
"Pakistani troops again resorted to unprovoked firing at our positions on the LoC in Hamirpur sector today evening (Thursday)," he said.
"The Pakistani firing started at 6.30 p.m. They used small arms and automatic weapons. Our troops retaliated effectively using same calibre weapons. Firing exchanges continued in the area up to 7.10 p.m.," he said.
Pakistan had Wednesday night also fired without any provocation at Indian positions in Hamirpur, the spokesman said.
The firing took place around 9 p.m. No casualty or damage was reported from the Indian side.
An Indian soldier was injured Wednesday when the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire on the LoC in Mendhar area of Poonch district.
Pakistan's paramilitary Rangers had also fired at three posts of the Border Security Force (BSF) on the international border in R.S. Pura area of Jammu district Wednesday.
