Pakistan government has decided to resort to administrative measures only to keep the situation under control on August 14, the day on which Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imaran Khan is scheduled to lead a protest march in the capital city of Islamabad.

The decision to avoid arresting leaders was taken during a meeting attended by several leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and members of the federal and Punjab governments and presided by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Raiwind on Monday, reported the Dawn.

According to a source quoted by the report, Nawaz asked the ministers to face the situation in a calm and composed manner and not panic.

Meanwhile, mediators have been trying to broker a truce between PML-N and PTI.
