Kennedys dare Obama to ALS Ice Bucket Challenge during Martha Vineyard holiday
President Barack Obama has been nominated for ALS Ice Bucket Challenge during his Martha's Vineyard holiday by the Kennedy family.
Maxwell Kennedy, a son of late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy, posted a video to his Facebook page showing the Kennedy family taking part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, saying that Grandma Ethel has been nominated for the challenge, Politico reported.
The online campaign challenges people to either dump a bucket of ice water over their heads or donate to support research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and have become popular on social media websites. When a person accepts the ice bucket challenge, he or she must challenge another person to partake in the fundraising effort.
Kennedy, who is now 86 years old, is shown in the video pouring ice water over her head, shortly after challenging the president to join along, who then nominates the US president.
He had also said that his family is proud to join the wave of advocates championing increased awareness and funding for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and that a good campaign starts at the grassroots and makes its way to the very top.
