Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she often wonders if the pursuit of perfection is worthwhile.

The 'Iron Man' star admitted that striving for achieving a sense of perfection has mostly been a "misguided belief" in her life and added that it often leads her onto the wrong path, the Mirror reported.

The 41-year-old Oscar winning actress, who was also the Max Factor cover model, wrote about her thoughts on "perfection" on her Goop website and said that it has made her place value on the wrong things several times and made her turn a blind eye to her "true self".

Paltrow, who is splitting from her husband Chris Martin, added that she often wonders about the origin of the idea of perfection and its presence in the society and she doubts whether it carries "a certain benefit".
