Iran's midfielder banned for 3 months for pushing referee

Tehran, Aug 11 : Iran's Persepolis midfielder Payam Sadeghian has been suspended from the football club's matches for three months for having pushed a referee in the Iran Professional League.

Sadeghian pushed the referee after receiving a red card for complaining in the 0-2 loss against Foolad Thursday, reports Xinhua.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Iranian Football Federation also fined him about USD 1,600.

Earlier, Persepolis had fined Sadeghian 10 percent of his annual salary.
