New Delhi, Aug 10 : Veteran fashion designer Rohit Bal turned a showstopper for a segment of jewellery brand Azva's showcase at the ongoing India Bridal Fashion Week (IBFW) here, leaving the audiences surprised.
Dressed in a formal plain ivory sherwani, Rohit, one of the country's most formidable designers, flaunted an elaborate piece of jewellery as a one-of-a-kind brooch.
"It was lovely," Bal exclaimed when IANS asked him about how he felt about the role reversal, as well as the jewellery piece.
Azva's show, primarily for the bride-to-be, also saw popular models as well as socialite Priya Sachdev and actress Nargis Fakhri take centrestage. They flaunted exquisite ornaments handcrafted in 22 carat gold. From bangles, earrings, chokers and rani-haars - there was something for everyone.
A standout factor was the fact that the traditional designs complemented the contemporary look that female models flaunted in western gowns.
