Greece offers humanitarian aid for Gaza Strip
Greece Thursday announced disbursement of 500,000 euros (669,000 dollars) to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) as a first step to support international efforts in dealing with the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip.
Greece also expressed via UNRWA and the European Union its readiness to accommodate and offer medical assistance to injured Palestinians, in particular children, Xinhua quoted a Greek foreign ministry statement as saying.
The recent conflict between Israel and the Palestinians this summer has left more than 1,800 dead and approximately 10,000 wounded.
