Mayawati cries foul over SP Govt. appropriating credit by inaugurating Janeshwar Mishra park
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has cried foul over the ruling Samajwadi Party Government in Uttar Pradesh claiming credit for the 367-acre Janeshwar Mishra Park, when the project was nurtured by her when she was the state's chief minister.
"The Janeshwar Park which is being inaugurated today was also going to be inaugurated by my party. They (SP) government is merely taking the credit what had been started during my government and instead giving an impression to the people as if they have done a lot. The reality is that the park was made by my government. It was supposed to be named after Dr. Bhimrao Rao Ambedkar. While my government was supposed to inaugurate it during that time it was being stopped as some people went to the court as it ordered a stay on it and soon elections happened and hence could not inaugurate it." Mayawati said.
"When the SP came in power it removed the name given by us in that park. They haven't done a right thing. When we come to power we will ensure that the name is reverted according to what we had desired," Mayawati added.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav today shared the same stage with Rajya Sabha MP, Amar Singh, during the inauguration of 367-acre Janeshwar Mishra park in Lucknow.
Amar Singh who used to be a confidante of Mulayam once upon a time has reportedly joined the mega event on latter's invitation.
On January 6 2010, Amar Singh had resigned from all posts of Samajwadi Party and was expelled from the party by Mulayam Singh Yadav on 2 February 2010.
Since then Amar Singh went on to form his own party 'Rashtriya Lok Manch' but failed to create an impact. He then tried his luck by contesting Lok Sabha polls on Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) ticket from Fatehpur Sikri seat of UP but lost.
