CIA 'torture techniques' post 9/11 helped catch Bin Laden, says U.S. senator
Republicans on the United States intelligence committee are expected to release a minority report stating that the harsh interrogating system of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) helped track Osama Bin Laden.
The panel's top Republican said that the report would include names of other terrorists as well who were brought down by CIA tactics, reports 24.com.
The committee reports will be out five years after the authorization of investigation into the possible torture by the CIA after 9/11 attacks.
The majority reports are likely to suggest that some techniques used by the intelligence agency were not helpful such as the waterboarding technique.
On Friday, U.S. President Barack Obama admitted that the CIA had tortured prisoners after 9/11 attacks.
