Liverpool football team manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly laughed off the suggestion that the club is ready to make a move for Italian striker Mario Balotelli.

Rodgers was linked with a 25 million pounds move for the AC Milan and Italy star after praising him during Liverpool's US tour.

But the Anfield boss dismissed any suggestions that he was in for the former Manchester City striker, despite losing 'banned' Uruguayan international Luis Suarez to Barcelona this summer, The Mirror reported.

Rodgers said that he was asked the question about Balotelli and spoke about what a talent he is and excellent player he is. He added that he could categorically reveal that the Italian would not be at Liverpool.

The Liverpool boss said that Balotelli is a wonderful player, but an AC Milan player. He said that he has just given his opinion of the striker, but that doesn't mean he will be signing him.
