James Bond actor Ben Whishaw has said that it takes courage for gay people to come out to their families and people have to do it in their own time.

The 'Skyfall' actor told Sunday Times Magazine that revealing about one's homosexuality was so much tension around doing something like that, the Daily Express reported.

Talking about his experience, the 33-year-old actor said that when he revealed to his family that he was gay, his friends and family member were "surprisingly lovely".

Whishaw said that he had a lot of fear in doing it for a long time, but confessed he wasn't sure why.
