Haryana launches new education scheme
Haryana Wednesday launched the "Mukhya Mantri Shiksha Deeksha Yojna", a scheme on the concept of activity-based learning through which a qualitative change is aimed in the standard of education in government schools, an official said.
The scheme was launched by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at a state-level programme organised at the Om Shanti Retreat Centre in Bhora Kalan, 35 Km from here.
He also started a facebook page of the scheme for the teachers to share their best teaching practices and techniques.
Hooda also released a module of Class Readiness Programme (CRP) through which the parents of the students studying in government schools will come to know about the activities to be carried out throughout the academic year.
The chief minister honoured the 730 school heads and teachers from all over the state who contributed in making the Class Readiness Programme, 2013 a success.
The NGOs who are helping in quality improvement programme in the field of education were also honoured by Hooda.
Hooda said the students, who bagged first, second and third positions in the state-level tests for classes third, fifth and eighth in every government school, will be honoured.
He said that last year at 'Pravesh Utsav' (celebration of admissions) held in Jind district March 24, he had launched the Class Readiness Programme.
Both these programmes became successful as the number of students in government schools increased.
He said for students who were not good at studies, the state government has started Sports Promotion Aptitude Tests (SPAT). These activities generated interest among children to go to school.
