Jaipur school teacher arrested for molesting students
A teacher of a prestigious school here was Thursday arrested on charges of molesting girl students, police said.
Maths teacher Nagendra Singh was arrested after the school principal filed a police complaint.
"We arrested the maths teacher of the school situated in Bhankrota today (Thursday) after an FIR was registered against him by the principal," Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahesh Chaudhary told IANS.
He said that in the police complaint, it was alleged that the teacher was teasing and molesting some girls.
"As per the FIR, the teacher also posted objectionable messages to girl students on Facebook," the police officer said.
Nagendra Singh was arrested on charges of assault or criminal force on a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty under the Indian Penal Code, IT Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
"We are further investigating the case," the police official said.
The parents of a girl student had filed a written complaint against the teacher with the school principal after which the first information report (FIR) was lodged by the principal against the teacher Wednesday.
The school administration, however, refused to speak on the subject and said the matter was being investigated by police.
