Kataria 'bids goodbye' to Pondy
Mr Virendra Kataria, the ousted Lt Governor of Puducherry left the Union Territory today.
Meanwhile, 20 retrenched governemnt employees were arrested when they were organising a black flag demonstration against Mr Kataria in front of the head post office here. They were apprehended much before Mr Kataria left from the Raj Nivas.
Meanwhile, CPI Pondy Unit Secretary R Viswanathan and PCC President A V Subramanian deplored the action by N R Congress volunteers and retrenched governemnt employees casting disgrace on Mr Kataria.
Recalling N R Congress volunteers throwing rotten eggs on a portrait of Mr Kataria yesterday and the black flag agitation by the retrenched governemnt employees headed by Saravanan, they said this will certainly cast a black mark on Puducherry.
Meanwhile, Lt General (retired) Ajaykumar Singh, Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands who was given additional charge of Puducherry will assume office at 1715 hrs today.
