AAP leaders pathological liars: Arun Jaitley
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders are "pathological liars".
"The AAP leaders are pathological liars. They are more comfortable in sitting on dharnas instead of running the government," said Jaitley.
"The AAP does not know how to govern a state. It is something foreign to them," he said.
AAP workers on Tuesday protested outside Jaitley's residence at Kailash Colony here demanding his apology over bribery allegations against his party.
Though the protests were peaceful, heavy security arrangements were made outside Jaitley's house.
Meanwhile, BJP activists under the leadership of party vice president Smriti Irani also began counter-protests against the AAP.
AAP MLA Madan Lal on Monday accused the BJP of offering him Rs. 20 crore to opt out of his party and pull down the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi.
Madan Lal alleged that he had been approached by men close to BJP leaders Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley but said he had no direct contact with these leaders.
"I had no direct conversation with any of these leaders," he told NDTV channel.
"Rubbish claims by AAP. AAP's alternative politics includes a fundamental right to falsehood and lies," Jaitley tweeted.
Madan Lal alleged that the BJP approached him first on Dec 7, a day before the Delhi poll results were announced.
"This man said he would set up my meeting with Arun Jaitley. I told him to shut up and disconnected," the MLA claimed.
He further alleged that he was approached again 10 days ago by two men claiming to know Narendra Modi.
"One of the men said 'we are Modi's people'. They said if you break away with nine people and form a new party, you can take power with BJP support. We will make you Chief Minister. They said we will also give you 20-20. I asked, 20 lakhs? They said no, 20 crores," he was quoted as saying in media.
