Sikhs celebrates 419th ' Prakash Purab' with gaiety and devotion
The 419th 'Prakash Purab' Birthday celebrations of sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahebji who fought for weak and meek and sacrificed life for the country, concluded with large number of Sikhs devotees and other community faiths celebrating with religious fervour, gaiety and devotion here today.
The major programme of the concluding event was organised under the aegis of Prabhandak Committee, Gurudwarta Saheb Hargobindpuri, Amberpet in the city, where large number of devotees participated in the 'Vishaal Deewan' (Mass Congregation) held at Maharana Pratap Function Hall, Amberpet by offering prayers to Guru Granth Sahebji (Holy Scripture of Sikhs).
Telangana State Home Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy and other political leaders also offered prayers on the occasion.
Prabhandak Committee, President, S.Bhag Singh and other committee members said that the congregation which began at 11 am continued up to 4 pm and was marked by the recitations of Holy Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the renowned Ragi Jathas (Community Preachers ) who were specially invited from various parts of the country for the important occasion. Bhai Gurmail Singhji (Punjab), Bibi Harjeet Kaur, TV Artist from Hoshiarpur, Hazuri Ragi, Bhai Gunwant Singhji, students of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle and other Ragi Jathas rendered shabad keertans that stressed on imbibing the higher values of life for which Guru Hargobindji strived.
The Guru who stood for national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony, they recalled.
After the culmination of the congregation the traditional Guru-ka-Langar (free community kitchen) was served to all the devotees where devotees sit in the same row with great discipline promoting the feelings of togetherness, fraternity and concern for fellow human beings.
